After reading several informational texts about life on a farm, our kindergarteners had the opportunity to visit a real farm. Students learned about the different farm animals and how they help people.
STEM DAY
Our 5th Grade students led STEM Day activities throughout the school using the scientific process on topics such as: Pine Cone Barometers, Force, Leaf Chromatography, Temperature and Thermal Energy.
Special Olympics Fall Games
The Special Olympics of New Hanover County held their Fall Games at Legion Stadium on October 18. Our sharks had a blast showing their talents!
Caring4Community
Our school was the 2nd place recipient in the Caring4Communitiy Back to School Contest and won $1500. Thank You Wilmington Kids Dentist!
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Our school had the honor of being present at the ribbon cutting ceremony of the first of 2 new Michael Jordan Family Clinics and got to see THE Michael Jordan, himself!
Each heart is an individually painted canvas created by some of our students using their own tints of red and green. This masterpiece is displayed proudly in the lobby of the new Michael Jordan Family Clinic. Thanks to Mr. Rick, our art teacher and to all the participating students for this beautiful piece.
NC Aquarium
Our 1st grade sharks took a trip to the Fort Fisher Aquarium to learn about their environment and met many of their fellow aquatic friends, discovering alligators, snakes, sea jellies, sea turtles, other sharks, and an ocean of fish.
